She attended Primary School at Externato Princesa D. Mª Amélia (1981/85) and Preparatory Cycle at Externato da Apresentação de Maria (1985/87). Secondary studies were carried out at Escola Secundária de Jaime Moniz (1987/1990) and Escola Secundária de Francisco Franco (1990/93). She completed the 12th grade in 1993 with an average grade of 19.7.
She applied to higher education in October 2003 and was admitted to the Medicine course at the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Lisbon. She graduated in 1999, with a final average of 17.2 and a grade of Good with Distinction.
She registered with the Medical Association on November 3, 1999, holding Professional License No. 39013.
She completed her General Internship in 2001/2002 at the Central Hospital of Funchal, with a final classification of Approved.
In October 2001, she took the National Examination for the Complementary Internship and chose the Dermatovenereology position at the Central Hospital of Funchal. She started the Complementary Internship in January 2002.
She completed the competencies outlined in the Complementary Internship Training Plan by December 31, 2006. At the Central Hospital of Funchal, she completed rotations in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, General Dermatology, and Cutaneous Allergology. At the Medical-Surgical Dermatology Center of Lisbon, she did rotations in Dermatological Surgery and Dermatopathology, and at the Curry Cabral Hospital, she did rotations in Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Dermatological Mycology, Photodermatology, and Pediatric Dermatology.
She presented the public final evaluations for the Complementary Internship at the University Hospitals of Coimbra on February 26-28, 2007, and was approved with a final grade of 19.1.
She worked as a Temporary Assistant in the Dermatology Department at the Central Hospital of Funchal from March 1, 2007, to August 26, 2008. She was then appointed as a permanent Assistant at the Central Hospital of Funchal after a Limited Internal Competition, where she ranked 1st with a grade of 18.21. She held this position until February 6, 2015, when she resigned from her public functions.
In October 2018, she took public exams for the title of Consultant in Dermatology at the Santo António Hospital in Porto, with a final grade of Approved, officially homologated in July 2019.
She completed a Master's degree in Aesthetic Dermatology in Madrid, in 2012/2013, at the University of Alcalá de Henares, accredited by the Spanish Academy of Dermatology. Classes were held at Ramón y Cajal University Hospital and San José Hospital. She completed her final work on the topic "Non-invasive body sculpting with focused ultrasound: an update."
In 2023/24, she completed a Master's Degree in Dermatological Laser Training at the same university, with online theoretical classes, practical sessions at Dr. Pedro Jaen's Clinic, and a final project on "Laser treatment in Alopecia."
She has been working in Private Practice since 2007 and has dedicated herself exclusively to this area since February 2015. She provides General Dermatology consultations, as well as medical and aesthetic dermatological procedures. Her main focus is on laser treatments, including fractional ablative and non-ablative lasers for skin rejuvenation and acne scars, photorejuvenation with intense pulsed light, rosacea treatment, treatment of pigmented lesions, vascular laser, and photodepilation. She also has a particular interest in revitalization treatments and skin quality improvement, such as peels, platelet-rich plasma, mesotherapy, and skin densification with hyaluronic acid, as well as treatments in Trichology, like platelet-rich plasma.
She has delivered several communications at specialty meetings and congresses, and published several articles in scientific journals.
She has received numerous awards: Best Communication at the SPDV-Sociedade Portuguesa de Dermatologia e Venereologia Meeting in April 2005; Best Clinical Case at the SPDV Meeting in November 2005; Best Poster at the 9th National Congress of SPDV in May 2006; Award for the five best clinical cases at the EADV Fostering Dermatology Training Course “Pediatric Dermatology,” Greece, October 2006; Bernardino António Gomes Award 2006 for the best clinical case article published in 2006 in the Proceedings of the Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology; Bernardino António Gomes Award 2007 for the best article published in 2007 in the Proceedings of the Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology.
